Tea Horse Ancient Road

The so-called Tea Horse Road is actually an authentic horse gang road.

The ancient tea horse road first originated in the "tea and horse mutual market" in the Tang and Song Dynasties, and the main force of ancient warfare was cavalry, and horses became the conditions for determining victory and defeat on the battlefield. The ethnic minorities in the northwest region of China regard tea and grain as important necessities. In this way, mules, horses, furs, medicinal herbs, tea, cloth, salt, and daily utensils produced in the Sichuan, Yunnan and inland areas of Tibet and the Sichuan-Yunnan border areas flowed endlessly from south to north in the high mountains and deep valleys of the Hengduan Mountains. The main trunk lines of the Tea Horse Road are the Qinghai-Tibet Line, the Yunnan-Tibet Line and the Sichuan-Tibet Line. Among them, the Qinghai-Tibet Line developed the earliest, the Yunnan-Tibet Line was the farthest route, and the Sichuan-Tibet Line had the greatest influence and was the most famous later.
